Dimitar Fingow
Dimitar Georgiev Fingow (also Dimitar Georgiev Fingov or Dimităr Georgiev Fingov , Bulgarian Димитър Георгиев Фингов ; born September 21, 1906 in Sofia , Bulgaria ; † November 27, 1983 in Düsseldorf ) was a Bulgarian-German architect . The Bulgarian-Austrian architect Georgi Fingow is his father. Dimitar Fingow was a fan of modern architecture .
After the communists came to power in Bulgaria after the end of the Second World War, Fingow rejected the prescribed Stalinist style in architecture and urban planning. Because of this, he was dismissed from the State Sofproect . In 1958 he visited his sister in Leipzig and in the same year emigrated to Düsseldorf . There he founded a design office and received recognition in 1959 through an offer of cooperation from Petersen & Köngeter Co. In Bulgaria he was condemned as an " enemy of the people " and was not allowed to return.
