Dmitri Konstantinowitsch Alexejew

Dmitri Konstantinowitsch Alexejew ( Russian Дмитрий Константинович Алексеев , scientific transliteration Dmitrij Konstantinovič Alexeev ; born August 10, 1947 in Moscow ) is a Russian pianist .

Dmitri Alexejew studied at the Moscow Conservatory and with Dmitri Bashkirow . In the 1970s he made his debut with performances in London , Vienna , Chicago and New York .

Alexeev's repertoire, some of which he recorded for recordings, includes works by Robert Schumann , Johannes Brahms , Sergei Prokofjew , Sergei Rachmaninow and Alexander Scriabin . Alexejew has also appeared as accompanist for Barbara Hendricks .

  • 1970: 1st prize at the George Enescu International Piano Competition
  • 1975: 1st prize Leeds International Piano Competition
