Do & Co is an Austrian catering company that also operates restaurants in various countries . The company's headquarters are in Vienna's 1st district, Innere Stadt .

history

The company was founded in 1981 with a delicatessen shop in downtown Vienna by Attila Doğudan of Turkish origin . Do & Co operated the catering for Lauda Air from 1987 and has been active in event catering, for example for Formula 1 races, since 1992 . Do & Co has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange since 1998 . There has been a logistics center in New York since 1999 . In 2002 the traditional confectioner company Demel was taken over on Kohlmarkt . In 2004 Do & Co took over the catering for the 2004 European Football Championship in Portugal . In 2006 a joint venture with Turkish Airlines was entered into. In 2007 Do & Co took over the aviation catering division of the company Airest (former subsidiary of Austrian Airlines , part of the Italian Save since 2006) and, in addition to Austrian , EVA Air and Malaysia Airlines, supplies over 60 airlines with meals in 30 kitchens are manufactured worldwide. The company was also awarded the contract for the 2008 European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland , the 2012 European Football Championship in Poland and Ukraine, and the 2016 European Football Championship in France .

There are two restaurants in Vienna - one of them in the Haas-Haus on Stephansplatz with a direct view of St. Stephen's Cathedral ; Among other things, there is also a luxury hotel operated by Do & Co. The second restaurant is in the Albertina .

From the opening of BMW Welt on 20./21. In October 2007 Do & Co also had restaurants in Germany. Do & Co operated the club restaurant, a gourmet fine dining restaurant with a show kitchen and the highest wine cabinet in Munich, the International Restaurant, also with a show kitchen and sushi bar, operates the coffee bar and the bistro. The Henry take-away bistro line was introduced. These restaurants have been run by Feinkost Käfer since October 2012 . Since 2010 Do & Co has also been represented with the Henry brand in the Billa flagship store in Vienna's Herrnhuterhaus. Further branches are located in Vienna at Vienna International Airport , at Wien Mitte train station and in Millennium City . Internationally, the brand is present at Kiev-Boryspil and Bodrum-Milas airports .

With the Henry am Zug brand , Do & Co took care of all catering on ÖBB trains between April 1, 2012 and 2016 . In May 2016, Do & Co declared that they no longer wanted to apply for an upcoming new call for tenders because of massive wage dumping by means of a subcontractor structure. Ultimately applied for an ÖBB tender with Henry on board in 2017 , Do & Co lost the contract to don travel railcatering gmbh from Josef Donhauser , who was already catering for ÖBB before 2012.

Raiffeisen Holding Niederösterreich-Wien transferred its stake in the company to Attila Doğudan Privatstiftung in December 2013.

In 2016 Do & Co is planning to open its second luxury hotel in Istanbul . As a supplement to the existing airline catering locations, new gourmet kitchens will be put into operation in Chicago and Seoul in 2015. More are planned in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington. The company's first airport hotel is also to be built in New York.

At the end of 2014, Do & Co opened its first food court in the world at Vienna Airport . Since then, guests have been catered for on 800 m² in Pier West (Gates C) in various gastronomy lines such as Demel , Henry, an American Diner and a branch of the Vienna Onyx Bar.

In 2014, DO & CO took over Arena One GmbH , which combines all of the catering in the Munich Allianz Arena . This gave the group access to the German stadium market, which has been dominated by Aramark so far .

The company wants to increasingly reduce its dependence on the unstable business with the airlines. The share of sales is to be reduced from currently 70% to 50 to 60% in the coming years.

In December 2014, the Haas house was bought by Do & Co for 106.6 million euros. At the end of 2016, the company's first in-house training center is due to go into operation in Vienna's Akademiestrasse. In the future, all around 10,000 employees worldwide are to be trained there on 4000 m². For this purpose, an employee hotel will be set up on the Gaudenzdorfer Gürtel.
