Domenico Caliandro (born September 5, 1947 in Ceglie Messapico , Brindisi Province , Italy ) is Archbishop of Brindisi-Ostuni .

Life

Domenico Caliandro was ordained deacon on October 31, 1970 and ordained a priest on March 18, 1971 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ugento-Santa Maria di Leuca on April 23, 1993 . He was ordained episcopate on June 28th of the same year by the Bishop of Oria , Armando Franco ; Co- consecrators were Andrea Mariano Magrassi OSB , Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto , and Cosmo Francesco Ruppi , Archbishop of Lecce . As a motto he chose Sicut oliva in fidelitate domini .

On May 13, 2000, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Nardò-Gallipoli . The inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on July 3 of the same year.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Archbishop of Brindisi-Ostuni on October 20, 2012.
