Dominic Barberi
Domenico Barberi (born June 22, 1792 in Palanzana near Viterbo , Italy ; † August 27, 1849 in Reading , England ) belonged to the Congregation of the Passionists .
From 1842 he worked as a missionary in England, where he made contacts with the Oxford movement . On October 9, 1845, he accepted John Henry Newman into the Catholic Church in Littlemore near Oxford . In October 1963 Dominic Barberi was appointed by Pope Paul VI. beatified .
