Dominik Fischnaller (born February 20, 1993 in Brixen ) is an Italian luge athlete .

biography

Dominik Fischnaller celebrated his first successes in various Italian youth teams. He made his debut in the World Cup in the 2011/12 season . On January 6, 2012 he won the team competition in Königssee with the Italian relay. Exactly a year later he made his first podium finish in the same place when he finished third behind David Möller and Albert Demtschenko . In Lake Placid , he finished second. In the overall ranking of the 2012/13 season , he finished seventh.

Fischnaller took part in two world championships. At the Junior World Championships in 2013 he won the gold medal.

On November 17, 2013, Fischnaller won his first World Cup race at the season opener in Lillehammer, Norway. There he won again in 2018 and 2020.

Personal

Fischnaller is the younger brother of tobogganist Hans Peter Fischnaller and cousin of tobogganist Kevin Fischnaller . He is in a relationship with the American luge athlete Emily Sweeney .
