The mosaic floors are on the ground floor of the Byzantine villa, the level of which is now 3 meters below street level. The large archaeological museum room is accessed via the church of Santa Eufemia in Via Barbiani, about 100 meters from the Basilica of San Vitale . In the exhibition room, large-scale mosaic floors are shown, which are decorated with geometric elements and plant motifs. One of the mosaics depicts the “Dance of the Seasons Genii ”, a rare form of representation in the circle of dancing seasons. Another motif shown is that of a sheep bearer (“ Good Shepherd ”).
