Donatella Rettore (born July 8, 1955 in Castelfranco Veneto , Treviso Province ), also known as Rettore , is an Italian singer, songwriter and actress.

Career

Rettore made his debut with a little-noticed appearance at the Sanremo Festival in 1974 . She released her first album Ogni giorno si cantano canzoni d'amore in 1975, in collaboration with Claudio Rego, who from then on stood by her side as a songwriter and partner. With the song Lailolà she drew attention abroad in 1976, especially in Germany. In 1977 she returned to Sanremo and released the second, self-titled album. When she went through a style and image change around 1978, she was able to increase her popularity. Splendido splendente became a hit and with the albums Brivido divino and Magnifico delirio she established herself as a singer who did not shy away from scandals .

In 1981 she was successful with the song Donatella and won the Festivalbar competition . On the next album Estasi clamorosa , Remember , a song written by Elton John was also represented. In 1982 Rettore continued to provoke Rock 'n' Roll Suicide with the album Kamikaze . That year she made her debut as an actress in the comedy Cicciabomba by the director Umberto Lenzi , for which she also recorded the title song This Time (again from the pen of Elton John). Elton John also contributed a song for her 1983 album Far West . In 1985 Danceteria appeared and in 1986 Rettore took part in the Sanremo Festival for the third time. The following year she sang the duet Adrenalina with Giuni Russo .

The next album, Rettoressa , was released in 1988. As an actress, she was meanwhile in the short film Il collezionista and later in two movies, Kinski Paganini by Klaus Kinski and Strepitosamente flop by Pierfrancesco Campanella to see. Rettore continued her record production after the compilation Ossigeno (1989) with Son Rettore e canto (1991). In the same year she was also seen on the theater stage in Omicidio a mezzanotte . She wrote the soundtrack for the film Cattive ragazze in 1993 and returned to Sanremo the following year . The album Incantesimi notturni was then released . After a live album in 1994, it was quiet for a while around the musician.

In 2003 Rettore got back with the EP Bastardo and after participating in the reality show La fattoria and the wedding with Claudio Rego the new album Figurine was released . The singer followed up with Stralunata in 2008 and Caduta massi in 2011 , while the compilation The Best of the Beast was released in 2012 .
