Dora Doll

Dora Doll (born May 15, 1922 in Berlin as Dorothée-Hermina Feinberg , † November 15, 2015 in Saint-Gilles , Gard ) was a French actress .

Life

Dora Doll, daughter of a banker of Russian descent, grew up in Paris from 1924. After her debut in Henri-Georges Clouzot's Manon , Doll had her breakthrough in 1954 in the role of Lola in When Night falls in Paris alongside Jean Gabin . She also played at Gabin's side in Jean Renoir's French Can-Can . In total, Doll made around 200 cinema and television films. From 1998 to 2000 she played grandma Agathe Chantreuil, the loving mother-in-law of Claude Jade , humiliated by husband Paul Barge , in the series Cap des Pins . Since it was the first French soap opera, she was considered the French "Miss Ellie" in allusion to the television series Dallas .

Doll was married to the French actor Raymond Pellegrin between 1949 and 1955 , with whom she had a daughter.

Dora Doll died on November 15, 2015 at the age of 93 in Saint-Gilles in the Gard department.

Awards

By decree of November 14, 2000, Dora Doll received the French Order of Merit with the rank of knight for 62 years of artistic creation .
