The Dortebach Valley is a nature reserve in Klotten ( Cochem-Zell district , Rhineland-Palatinate ).
The nature reserve, which was placed under nature protection by ordinance of May 20, 1930, is located northeast of Klotten along the Dortebach , a northern tributary of the Moselle . A carved sign on the B 49 shows visitors the way under the railway line into the valley.
The lower part of the Dortebach valley is an alpine-looking erosion valley . It opens to the south towards the Moselle between two rock heads. A little above a rocky ridge juts out from the west, around which the stream flows at right angles. From the Moselle to this ledge, the west side consists of steep, dry rocks, while the east slope is sloped.
The Dortebach valley is part of the Moselsteig Trail
