Hubbub

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A drubbel is a historical rural form of settlement . It comprises between three and 15 farmsteads with their numerous outbuildings in a loose arrangement and often forms the core of a scattered settlement . The term is mostly used in Westphalia , where it is also used as a street name in the old town of Münster (north of the Prinzipalmarkt ).

Drubbel emerged from single and double yard settlements through yard division and settlement. They are tied to an easy-to-work sandy soil with an ash corridor or (more rarely) a block corridor. In the Ravensberger Land , a peasant bell belonged to a drubbel .

Distribution area is mainly the north-west German old settlements (especially west of the Weser ), partly also Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Bavaria , Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate .
