Du Li ( Chinese  杜丽 , Pinyin Dù Lì ; born March 5, 1982 in Zibo , Shandong Province ) is a Chinese sports shooter . In 2004 she was a gold medalist at the Olympic Games in Athens , in 2006 she became world champion in air rifle shooting .

You started shooting at the age of 12. She celebrated her greatest success before the Olympic victory in 2002 at the World Championships in Lahti , Finland , when she finished second behind the Czech Kateřina Kůrková . At the 2006 World Cup in Zagreb she was able to turn the result around and took the title from Kůrková.

On June 4, 2003 she won the World Cup event in Zagreb and set a world record with 504.9 rings, which was only surpassed on May 24, 2008 by the German Sonja Pfeilschifter (505.0).

In the Olympic final on August 14, 2004, after qualifying with 398 rings, you were still in second place behind Russian Lyubov Galkina . In the final, she overtook her competitor and won with 502.0 rings ahead of Galkina and world champion Kateřina Kůrková and secured It won the first gold medal at the 2004 Olympic Games. At the 2008 Olympic Games in domestic China, she could not fully meet the expectations of her in the first competition with the air rifle as fifth place. In the three-position battle with the small bore rifle, however, she won the gold medal five days later and set a new Olympic final record with 690.3 rings.

Du Li won her third Olympic medal at the 2016 Olympic Games when she won the silver medal behind Virginia Thrasher ( USA ) with an air rifle .
