Dumeng Giovanoli (born January 23, 1941 in Sils in the Engadine ) is a former Swiss ski racer.

biography

Giovanoli had its most successful period in the late 1960s. The first victory in World Cup Skiing succeeded on 14 January 1968 at the slalom of Wengen . A week later, at the slalom in Kitzbühel , he won again and traveled to Grenoble as one of the favorites for the Winter Olympics . Here he was fourth in slalom and seventh in giant slalom . In the non-Olympic alpine combination he was runner- up behind the French Jean-Claude Killy .

In the two following seasons he won three more World Cup races. Finally, at the end of his career, he won the bronze medal in the giant slalom at the World Ski Championships in Val Gardena in 1970 .
