Dunja Rajter (born March 3, 1946 in Našice , SR Croatia , Yugoslavia ) is a German singer and actress . She lives in Langen .

Life

As a schoolgirl she sang in the children's choir of her father Rudolf Rajter, who was a music teacher in Zagreb . She studied at the Zagreb Theater Academy. After graduating as an actress, she was accepted into the Zagreb Theater Ensemble in 1963. In 1962 she appeared in a television series in front of the camera; Mario Nardelli , her later guitar companion, wrote the music for it.

In 1964 she came to Germany, where she has lived ever since. Here she first appeared as an actress. She has appeared in several feature films and television productions. The most successful films were Winnetou I , Unter Vultures and The Beginning ( Adolf Grimme Prize ). The most successful television productions were Salto Mortale , Big Man What Now? , The dream ship as well as table and bed .

She was discovered for Germany by Horst Lippmann , who had seen her in Yugoslavia on a television show. Numerous appearances on television shows such as Forget-Me-Not , The Golden Shot and One Will Win made her known to a wide audience.

In the early 1970s she was also known as a singer. It hit the charts with hits like Was ist schon haben (1970) and Salem Aleikum (1971) . At the end of the decade, Rajter had even smaller successes. She appeared on the ZDF hit parade in 1977 with the song Junge Herz and I believe you in 1980 . She was a guest on Harry Belafonte's American television show, made guest appearances in France in various television magazines, got her own personality show on German television and went on a European tour with Ivan Rebroff . Rajter's songs are a mixture of hits and chansons . In 1986 she broke new ground in music and appeared on cabaret stages with Georg Danzer , Klaus Hoffmann and Konstantin Wecker, among others .

In 1993 Rajter appeared at the Berliner Jedermann-Festspiele (Buhlschaft) and in 2003 as a guest star in Old Surehand at the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg . In the 2008/09 season she was seen in the role of Golde in Anatevka at the Trier Theater . In 2012 she played the voodoo priestess Marie Laveau at the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg .

Dunja Rajter's first marriage was to cameraman Gérard Vandenberg . In 1972 she married the singer and bandleader Les Humphries in the village church of Undeloh . They have a son, Danny Leslie Humphries (* 1974), who appeared as a singer and guitarist in the band Glow . The marriage was divorced in 1976. On August 28, 2009, she married her long-time friend, the marketing consultant Michael Eichler, in Zadar, Croatia .
