The EE-3 Jararaca is a four-wheeled and all-wheel drive (4 × 4) reconnaissance tank made in Brazil . The vehicle was developed and produced by the Brazilian armaments company Engesa in the late 1970s. The armored car was exported to numerous African and Latin American countries.

description

In the standard version, the vehicle is equipped with a 20 mm machine cannon and a 12.7 mm machine gun. Furthermore, anti-aircraft missiles , anti-tank missiles or mortars can be installed on or in the vehicle.

The EE-3 Jararaca is fully armored. The armor is made of multilayered rolled steel, as it was also used in other armored vehicles of the Engesa company. The armor essentially consists of two layers, an inner, less rigid layer and an outer, rigid steel layer. Brazilian tests showed that this method promised better protection.

The EE-3 is equipped with a 4-cylinder diesel engine OM 314A from Mercedes-Benz , which delivers an output of 120 hp. The gearbox is from Clark .

The armored car is not buoyant, NBC protection is only optional.
