Eberhard Rimann

Eberhard Rimann (born August 25, 1882 in Hirschberg (Silesia) , † May 15, 1944 in Dresden ) was a German geologist and university professor at the TH Dresden .

Rimann studied geology and mineralogy up to his doctorate in 1906. phil. He has also passed the exams to become a graduate markscheider and graduate mining engineer . From 1910 to 1911 he explored the Basterland in the middle of the colony and the land of the Khauashottentots on the eastern border on behalf of the Hanseatic Mining Society in German South West Africa . At the TH Dresden he was professor of mineralogy and geology from 1920 until his death in 1944 after a serious illness that had already partially made him unable to work. At the same time, he headed the Museum of Mineralogy, Geology and Prehistory in Dresden and added his own collection to it.
