Eberhard Vetzer von Geispitzheim , also Fetzer von Geispitzheim (* in the 15th century ; † December 3, 1520 ), was a nobleman in the service of the Electoral Palatinate , whose magnificent tomb has been preserved in the Gau-Odernheim simultaneous church .

He came from the old noble family of the Rheinhessen Gabsheim -based Lords of Geispitzheim . They occur in several lines, with one branch having the suffix "Vetzer" or "Fetzer" . The nobleman was married to Lysa von Ingelheim († 1519). She became known as the founder of the famous church stalls of the Simultankirche Bechtolsheim . The couple had several children; a son and four daughters who died early.

Death and grave

Eberhard Vetzer von Geispitzheim died in 1520 as the last male member of his Vetzers family branch; the wife already in the previous year. In the choir of the simultaneous church in Gau-Odernheim , as local lords there, they received a magnificent tomb with their life-size figures.

Their inheritance has been divided. Most of the parts went to the Dalbergers via daughter Elisabeth († 1534) who was married to Wolfgang V. von Dalberg , other parts to his family's daughter Anna († 1505) who was married to Burkhard Sturmfeder von Oppenweiler . The Sturmfeder von Oppenweiler succeeded the deceased in 1521 as pledges and local lords in Gau-Odernheim .
