Echinococcus felidis ( Latin: feles, the cat) is atapeworm of the Echinococcus granulosus group that occursin Africa . The main final hosts of the parasite are lions . Eggs have alsobeen detectedin spotted hyenas , but their role as final hosts is not yet known. Warthogs , zebras , wildebeests , bush pigs , buffalo and various antelopes act as intermediate hosts.
