Editorial Caminho is a Portuguese book publisher from Alfragide near Lisbon .

history

The publishing house was founded in Portugal in 1975, after the Carnation Revolution . He was best known for the publications of women such as Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen or Maria Isabel Barreno , and authors such as Gonçalo M. Tavares or Manuel da Fonseca . Of particular importance for the publisher was the 1998 Nobel Prize for Literature awarded to the author José Saramago, who was published by Caminho .

Caminho is a founding member of the publishing holding company LeYa, founded in 2008 (onomatopoeic for: "Read!").

The publisher is best known for its fiction , but its program also extends to other areas. Textbooks of the Portuguese language, books for children and young people, thematic reference works and other non-fiction books, especially in the fields of art, education and history, are published.
