Eduard Biermann

Eduard Biermann (born May 16, 1878 in Bremen , † December 11, 1937 in Frankfurt (Main) ; full name: Wilhelm Eduard Biermann ) was a German economist and taught at the universities of Leipzig , Greifswald and Frankfurt am Main .

Life

Biermann began studying in 1897. He studied at the universities of Berlin , Leipzig, Caen and Munich . In Leipzig, he completed his studies in 1901 and became a Doctor of Philosophy PhD . His dissertation was called The German Cattle Insurance and its Reform .

In 1904 Biermann's habilitation took place at the University of Leipzig on the basis of the text On the History and Criticism of Individualistic-Atomistic State and State Intervention Doctrine since the establishment of political economy as a science . In that year he became a private lecturer in political economy at the Faculty of Philosophy. He was promoted to unscheduled associate professor in 1910.

In 1919 Biermann moved to the University of Greifswald as a full professor. There he taught until 1929. In that year he was appointed full honorary professor for economics at the University of Frankfurt am Main. He held the professorship there until the end of his life.
