Edward Joshua Cooper
Edward Joshua Cooper (born May 1, 1798 in St. Stephen's Green , Dublin , † April 28, 1863 in Markree Castle ) was an Irish astronomer .
Cooper studied at Eton and Oxford . After he inherited Markree Castle , he had an observatory built there. His greatest scientific work was the publication of a catalog with about 60,000 stars ( Catalog of Stars Near the Ecliptic Observed at Markree ). He discovered 7 objects in the NGC catalog .
