The badge of honor "Pioneer of Labor" belongs to the group of badges of honor of the NSDAP . It was donated by Adolf Hitler in August 1940 and was intended to be awarded for certain crowning achievements .

The award was made in the “name of the Führer” by the head of the German Labor Front Robert Ley at meetings of the Reich Chamber of Labor . He formulated the award as follows: The "Pioneer of Work" badge of honor is the culmination of the performance system, which should lead to the highest performance in economic and social terms in honest competition between companies by creating role models. It is the highest distinction that can be achieved in this area in the National Socialist state.

According to his foundation, all “ national comrades ” of a “National Socialist model company” were entitled to award . (see also War Merit Cross on flags ).

Appearance

The award is a gold-plated, oval , red enamelled pin badge made of silver that is enclosed by a thick golden laurel wreath . Lying on top is the golden imperial eagle, looking to the left, with a gear in its claws . In the gear itself an upright black enamelled swastika on a white background.

Carrying method

The award was worn on the left breast pocket below the Wehrmacht decorations (if any), but above those of the party badges or next to the War Merit Cross .

According to the law on titles, medals and decorations of July 26, 1957, the award may not be worn in any form in the Federal Republic of Germany.
