Elijah L. Daughtridge
Elijah Longstreet Daughtridge (born January 17, 1863 in Rocky Mount , North Carolina , † June 12, 1921 ) was an American farmer and politician ( Democratic Party ).
Career
Elijah Daughtridge represented Edgecombe County in the North Carolina House of Representatives between 1901 and 1903 . He was elected Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina in 1912 , a position he held between 1913 and 1917. He then ran unsuccessfully for the office of governor of North Carolina. Thomas Walter Bickett emerged as the winner .
Daughtridge was an Alderman of Rocky Mount and a commissioner in Edgecombe County. He also served on the State Board of Agriculture and served on the Board of Trustees of North Carolina State University .
