Elinor Hubert
Elinor Hubert , b. Höhnen (born May 11, 1900 in Breslau ; † January 25, 1973 in Cologne ) was a German politician of the SPD .
Life and work
Elinor Höhnen was the daughter of the administrative lawyer and later district president of the districts of Stettin and Hildesheim Leopold Höhnen . She first attended the Lyceum in Allenstein and then the high school for girls in Breslau, where she passed her Abitur in 1919. From 1921 to 1926 she studied medicine in Greifswald and received her license to practice medicine in 1927 . She worked as a general practitioner in Brandenburg .
In 1927 she married the physician and later university professor Rudolf Hubert. Her husband died in 1942.
In 1945 she moved to Göttingen , where she worked for Dr. med. received her doctorate and again worked as a general practitioner. On the side she studied law until 1948 without completing her studies with an exam.
In 1965 she received the Paracelsus Medal of the German Medical Association.
politics
Elinor Hubert, who joined the SPD in 1945, was a member of the Zone Advisory Council in 1947/48 . She was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election from 1949 to 1969, where she was the health policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group and, since 1965, chairwoman of the committee on health care. She was also a member of the WEU Assembly , where she chaired the Committee on Relations with National Parliaments from 1959 to 1965. She represented the constituency of Alfeld - Holzminden in parliament as a directly elected member of parliament in all election periods .
