Elisabeth Bonnemann

Elisabeth Bonnemann (born December 8, 1903 in Hagen / Westphalia; † January 23, 1982 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Bonnemann attended the Lyzeum and Realgymnasium in Osnabrück, Aachen and Cologne and then began studying philosophy , German and English at the universities of Freiburg , Bonn and Cologne . She passed her state examination in 1930 and received her doctorate in 1931. She worked as a library trainee in Bonn and Berlin until, after completing her specialist library examination, she was placed in the academic service of the university libraries in Kiel and Halle and the library of the Technical University of Hanover . Since 1941 she was employed at the Lower Saxony State and University Library in Göttingen. Because of “political inactivity” during the National Socialist era , she was not promoted in Halle.

As a CDU member, she was elected to the city council of Göttingen in 1956 and entered the Lower Saxony state parliament in the fourth electoral period from May 6, 1959 to May 5, 1963.
