Elisabeth Sander

Elisabeth Sander (born 1941 ) is a German-Austrian psychologist .

Scientific career

Elisabeth Sander graduated from the University of Vienna in 1965 with a teaching degree for teaching at grammar schools (German, philosophy / psychology, English) and a doctorate in psychology. After completing her doctorate, she worked for a year in educational counseling in Paderborn / Westphalia. She then worked from 1967 to 1972 as a research assistant at the department for curative education at the former PH Ruhr, now the University of Dortmund , then from 1972 to 1986 in the seminar for psychology at the RWTH Aachen Faculty of Education , where she qualified as a professor in 1985 .

From 1986 to 2006 she was professor of psychology (focus: developmental psychology and educational psychology) at the Institute for Psychology at the University of Koblenz-Landau , Koblenz campus. From 1997 to 1999 she held a visiting professorship at the University of Vienna .

In 1997 she co-founded the Ada Lovelace project (for the advancement of women in MINT ), which she was responsible for until her retirement. She continues to act as a consultant for this project and is co-editor of the Ada Lovelace series.

She has been retired since 2006.

  • Member of the working group for empirical special educational research (AESPF).
