Ella Trebe
Ella Gertrud Trebe , b. Beyer (born November 6, 1902 in Berlin ; † August 11, 1943 in Sachsenhausen concentration camp ) was a German resistance fighter against National Socialism .
Life
Ella Beyer was the daughter of the worker Otto Beyer and the Polish-born Pauline Barcikowska - a laundress and grew up in one of the backyards of Weddings . She worked as a metal worker at the Lewin company and as a winder at the AEG plant in the Gesundbrunnen district of Berlin , where she also lived. Her political commitment began in 1922 when she joined the German Metal Workers' Association (DMV). In 1926 she joined the KPD . In 1929 she was elected to the district council of her home district. She married her companion Paul Trebe. From 1929/30 she supported the strategy of the Revolutionary Trade Union Opposition (RGO). In 1930/31 Trebe was a women's leader on the board of the Union of Metalworkers in Berlin (EVMB).
After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists , Ella Trebe joined the "North Security Apparatus" of the KPD's underground district leadership. At the beginning of the Second World War he was in close contact with Wilhelm Guddorf and Erwin Reisler . As a courier for the Rote Kapelle , she maintained contact with other communist groups at home and abroad. Even after the waves of arrests against this resistance organization, she continued her resistance. In the spring of 1943 she found accommodation and contacts for the Spanish fighter Ernst Beuthke for his attempt to reestablish the connections that had been interrupted by the arrests in 1942 and to help bring together the Berlin resistance fighters.
Due to the carelessness of a parachutist who was hiding, Ella Trebe and other helpers were exposed in 1943, along with her family and other members of the group, arrested on charges of enemy espionage and deported to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp . A short time later, she was shot there without trial. Together with Ella Trebe, Ernst Beutke, his parents and brothers and 30 other resistance fighters were also murdered.
