Emil Mario Vacano

Emil Alois Mario Ferdinand Hugo Vacano (born November 16, 1840 in Mährisch-Schönberg , Moravian-Silesia , † June 9, 1892 in Karlsruhe ) was an Austrian artist, equestrian and writer .

Life

The son of a cadastral chief inspector initially appeared disguised as a transvestite under the pseudonyms Signora Sangumetta or Miss Corinna as an art rider, although at that time only a few knew him without disguise. Vacano later operated in the vicinity of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, among others . In the further course of his life he became a respected writer and wrote, partly together with his friend Emerich von Stadion , numerous historical novels and short stories. When Lola Montez read the script for "Blue Blood" in the Barnum Museum in New York, she is said to have called it "Moral Lectures" . Vacano attended those moral lectures and later, when he became friends with Lola, received permission from her to publish them.
