Eric Brevig

Eric Brevig (* 1957 ) is an American director and special effects artist .

Life

Brevig studied at the University of California in Los Angeles and graduated in 1982 with a Master of Fine Arts . In the same year, Tim Burton's short film Vincent saw his name appear in the credits for the first time in the form of thanks. The following year he worked as a special effects artist on the science fiction film D.ARYL - The Extraordinary . In 1986 he directed the special effects of the 3D produced short film Captain EO by Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas . The film starring Michael Jackson was only shown in the amusement parks of The Walt Disney Company . In 1990 he headed the special effects at Paul Verhoevens Die totaleenken - Total Recall , for which he was awarded the Special Achievement Award . The following year, he worked for Steven Spielberg's Hook for the Oscar nominated.

He began in the mid-1990s as a second unit to work director, and turned among other things, for the Hollywood - blockbuster Men in Black , Wild Wild West and Pearl Harbor additional scenes. His first directorial work was an episode of the television series Xena - Die Kriegerprinzessin 1995. In 2008 he was hired as a film director for the first time. In his films, The Journey to the Center of the Earth and Yogi Bear , produced entirely in 3D , he was able to fall back on his experience with this type of production going back to 1986.
