Eric Paterson
Eric Evan Paterson (born September 11, 1929 in Edmonton , Alberta - † January 14, 2014 in Sherwood Park , Alberta) was a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper . At the 1952 Winter Olympics , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.
Career
Eric Paterson played during his career as a hockey goalkeeper with the Edmonton Maple Leafs in the Edmonton Junior Hockey League, for which he played for two years. He then played for a year for the Regina Caps in the Western Canada Major Hockey League. With the Edmonton Mercurys , to which he joined just a few months before the tournament began, he represented Canada at the 1952 Winter Olympics. In the 1953/54 season he ran for the Nelson Maple Leafs in the Western International Hockey League. In the 1958/59 season he was in a game for the Edmonton Flyers from the Western Hockey League between the posts and in seven games for the Rossland Warriors from the WIHL. He then ended his ice hockey career.

For Canada , Paterson took part in the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo , where he won the gold medal with his team.
