Erich Lamberz

Erich Lamberz (born August 15, 1943 in Bonn ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

From 1963 to 1970 he studied classical philology and philosophy at the University of Bonn , where he passed the state examination in 1970 and received his doctorate . From 1970 to 1975 he was a seconded research assistant at the University of Bonn at the Institute for Patristic Studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki . As a research assistant (1975–1983) and research assistant (1983–1986) he worked at the Institute for Classical Philology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , where he has been a lecturer since 1975. The Görres Society sponsored him from 1987 to 1990 as a scholarship holder. Since 1990 he has been a research assistant at the commission for the publication of a second series of Acta Conciliorum Oecumenicorum (since 2009 part of the commission for Graecist and Byzantine studies ) at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . Since 1993 he has been a member of the Comité international de paleographie grecque . From 1995 to 2002 he taught text criticism as a lecturer in the graduate school . Since 2012 he has been honorary professor for Greek codicology at LMU.

His focus is on the history of tradition, textual criticism , Greek palaeography and codicology , the history of councils and Neoplatonism .
