experience

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The experience is an event in the individual life of a person that differs so much from the everyday life of the person experiencing it that it remains in his memory for a long time . Experiences can be more satisfying (e.g. attending a party , sex ), more exciting (e.g. an adventure or a trip ) or traumatizing (e.g. victim of a crime ).

features

An experience is understood to be an emotionally processed event that links internal and external processes with positive and negative sensations. In terms of its quality and effect, it is always a subjective, immediate and individual process of consciousness . The experience is closely related to the atmosphere of a situation at the location of the event, so that outside of it it cannot be repeated and produced at will and consequently cannot be passed on as such to an uninvolved person. The subjective classification and evaluation of the event is therefore decisive.

From the perspective of radical constructivism , we actively co-invent events of reality by experiencing them , but above all by interpreting them afterwards. From a media science perspective, it is only individual attention and memory performance that make extraordinary participation in interaction an experience that has become conscious.

Gerhard Schulze has analyzed the “ experience society ” of the present from a cultural-sociological perspective and also developed a fundamental theory of the experience.
