Ernst Kausen

Ernst Gerhard Kausen (born December 5, 1948 in Rheinhausen near Duisburg) is a German mathematician , computer scientist and linguist .

Life

After graduating from the Amplonius-Gymnasium Rheinberg , Ernst Kausen studied mathematics, physics and computer science at the Universities of Giessen and Hanover . It was in 1976 in field Mathematics ( Complex Analysis ) at Wolfgang Rothstein , Klaus Kopfermann and Horst Tietz in Hannover for Dr. rer. nat. PhD . He also studied Egyptology , Ancient Near Eastern Studies and Comparative Linguistics at the University of Göttingen from 1972–76 .

Ernst Kausen was an IT manager in a global US company from 1977 to 1982 . From 1982 to 2014 he was C-2 professor for mathematics and theoretical computer science at the University of Applied Sciences Gießen-Friedberg (now the Technical University of Central Hesse ), and on March 1, 2014 he retired. In addition, he has been working as a linguist since 1977 with a focus on ancient oriental languages and comparative linguistics .

In 2016, the daily newspaper Die Welt called him a polymath .
