Ernst Ohst (born September 10, 1914 in Düren , † September 1, 2000 in Düren) was a German painter , graphic artist and caricaturist .

Ohst not only painted his homeland again and again in pen drawings with a goose quill etc., but also the Eifel , the Rheingau and the Moselle . But he also found many worthwhile motives abroad.

Life

Ohst graduated from secondary school , then completed a commercial apprenticeship and then worked in advertising. After several years of hospitalization , he continued his education at the Cologne factory schools with Heinrich Hussmann . He came back to Düren via the museum village of Cloppenburg .

In addition to many exhibitions throughout the Rhineland , he particularly promoted young talent .

In Rölsdorf a street was named after Ernst Ohst.

Exhibitions

Ohst has exhibited his work in many cities, e.g. B. in Cologne, Moers, Düren, Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf, Langerwehe. In 1970 he had already initiated over 130 exhibitions to promote young talent. Most recently, over 100 pictures by Ohst were exhibited in Düren in Burgau Castle .
