The First German Tile Museum Boizenburg is an art and technology museum in Boizenburg / Elbe . It was opened in 1998 and is located in the Reichenstrasse 4 building in the center of Boizenburg's old town.

The museum primarily collects early industrial tiles in the style of Historicism , Art Nouveau and Art Deco and organizes an international tile collector's fair every year. Co-founder was the tile artist Lothar Scholz .

On an area of ​​around 500 m², it shows wall and floor tiles by the manufacturers "Steinut- und Mosaikfabrik Villeroy & Boch " (from 1880 to 1930) and "Boizenburger Platten, Duensing-Bicherox-Werke" (from 1903 to 1930) in a permanent exhibition . Temporary exhibitions are intended to provide in-depth insights into the history of tile production and tile art.

The sponsor of the museum is the non-profit association "First German Tile Museum Boizenburg eV" founded in 1995
