Esslingen is a village in the political municipality of Egg am Pfannenstiel in the canton of Zurich , around 15 km southeast of the city of Zurich . The districts of Oberesslingen and Niederesslingen, Rotblatt and Inner- and Ausservollikon belong to Esslingen. Esslingen has its own coat of arms from the time before the merger with Egg.
The Forchbahn (line S 18 of the Zurich S-Bahn ) has its terminus in Esslingen and connects the village directly with the center of Zurich.
The community of Egg's retirement and nursing home, the Loogarten, is located in Esslingen.
