Eugen Stocke (born June 27, 1895 in Dirmstein ; † March 3, 1992 in Rödental near Coburg ) was a German entrepreneur who was a patron in the fields of sport and culture .

Stocke was born in Dirmstein in the building that later became Café Kempf as the son of the baker and winery owner Roland Heinrich Stocke (Roland Stocke II.) And his wife Jakobine Katharina Brubacher . His older sister was called Clare.

He attended a grammar school in Lübeck and passed the Abitur there at the beginning of the First World War . Immediately thereafter, he was drafted into the military and served as an officer. Because of a serious injury, he had to give up his aspired sports career. He studied economics at the University of Heidelberg and obtained his doctorate in economics and social sciences in 1924 on the subject of "The effects of the Versailles peace treaty on navigation on the Rhine with special attention to its transport organization".
