Eva Klotz (born June 4, 1951 in Walten , municipality of St. Leonhard in Passeier , South Tyrol , Italy ) is a politician of the South Tyrolean freedom . Your political goal is to hold a referendum on South Tyrol's membership in Italy, which Klotz resolutely rejects.

Life

Klotz grew up as the eldest of six children of Georg Klotz (Jörg Klotz) in Passeier . She attended the teacher training college and then completed a degree in history, folklore and philosophy at the University of Innsbruck . In 1974 she did her doctorate with a dissertation on the history of the Brixen monastery . As a result, she acquired the teaching qualification for South Tyrolean high schools in the literary subjects (German, history, geography and Latin). From 1975 until her election to the South Tyrolean Parliament in 1983, she worked as a teacher at various South Tyrolean high schools.

Klotz successfully applied as a non-party candidate in 1980 on the list of the South Tyrolean People's Party for the Bolzano municipal council, of which she was a member until 1983. She sat from 1983 to 1989 for the South Tyrolean Heimatbund and from 1989 to 2007 for the Union for South Tyrol in the South Tyrolean state parliament and thus also in the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . In 2007, the South Tyrolean Freedom - Free Alliance for Tyrol split off from the Union under the leadership of Eva Klotz. In the state elections in 2008 she was re-elected for the sixth time with a total of 9,914 preferential votes, and in the state elections in 2013 for the seventh time with 13,036 preferential votes. On December 2, 2014, Klotz resigned from her state parliament mandate for family reasons and was replaced by Myriam Atz Tammerle .

Eva Klotz lives in Bolzano. She was married to Hans Bachmann until his death on December 22, 2019.
