history

On March 1, 1993, the Evangelical Diakonissenhaus Berlin-Teltow took over the former Zossen district hospital with its Ludwigsfelde and Zossen operations as the new hospital operator. At the end of 2002, both parts of the company and the Evangelical Hospital Teltow in Ludwigsfelde were merged.

The Zossen hospital dates back to before the First World War . It was created as a district hospital on the initiative of District Administrator Ernst von Stubenrauch . At times it was run by a church sisterhood before it passed back into municipal hands.

The beginnings of the hospital in Ludwigsfelde go back to 1945, when three barracks were set up as an emergency hospital on the forest sports field. With the establishment of the industrial plant in 1954, a polyclinic with bed ward was created on the site of the former Hall 12 of the Daimler-Benz plant. It is the core of House B, which still exists today. The first patient was admitted on April 20, 1954. The first child saw the light of day on November 3, 1954 in a barrack that had previously served as a rural outpatient clinic . The current house C - formerly a polyclinic, today a department for pediatric and adolescent medicine - went into operation in 1974. Organizationally, the hospitals in Rangsdorf (children) and in Zossen (Innere) were added in 1977. On April 30, 1984, a new ward block, House A, with the surgical wards and the intensive care unit was inaugurated. In June 1993 the reconstruction and expansion of the polyclinic into a modern department for child and adolescent medicine was completed. On October 6, 1997, a new operating theater with three rooms opened. The foundation stone was laid on September 1, 2000 for the construction of a new ward building for 105 beds in the internal department, with which the houses in Teltow and Zossen could be merged at the Ludwigsfelde site . The new house with bed wards and a new department for functional diagnostics and endoscopy was put into operation in November 2002. This means that medical care for patients can take place in close cooperation between all specialist departments under one roof in Ludwigsfelde.

The Evangelical Diakonissenhaus Berlin-Teltow had been running a hospital in Teltow since 1927 . As a specialist internal hospital, it has played an important role in medical care in the region since the 1960s.
