Eyes of the Navy is an American short film from 1940 .

The film tries to inspire young men to enroll as Navy pilots. It shows young men who go through the basic training for pilots and finally take off from aircraft carriers and land on them. In order to make the service more palatable to the young men, it is shown how much fun the recruits can have on their tours around the world.

In 1941 the film was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film (Two-Reel) category.

The MGM was produced in close cooperation with the US Navy. The Navy allowed shooting at its bases at Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego , Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, California, and Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida .
The film was completed before the United States entered World War II (1941).
The film's spokesman was MGM's publicity chief Frank Whitbeck.
