Fænø Kalv ( German  "Fænøs calf" ) is an approximately 4.3 ha large Danish island in the Strait Snævringen the little Beltes , about 1 km west of the island Fænø . The island has a length and width of approx. 200 m. It belongs to the parish community ( Danish : Sogn ) Middelfart Sogn , which until 1970 belonged to Harde Vends Herred in what was then Odense Amt , then to Middelfart Municipality in what was then Fyns Amt , which became the "new" Middelfart with the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 Municipality in the region of Syddanmark has risen.

The island has been under nature protection since March 21, 1922 . It is uninhabited and is only used as a nature campsite .

history

In the Danish-Swedish War of 1658–1660 , the Swedes built a fortification on the island , the earth walls of which are still clearly visible.
