The FC Flick Foundation against Xenophobia, Racism and Intolerance is a private foundation based in Potsdam that is committed to combating xenophobia , racism and intolerance .

It was founded in 2001 by the entrepreneur and art collector Friedrich Christian Flick and supports projects to “promote international attitudes, tolerance in all areas of culture and the idea of international understanding ” for children and young people in the eastern German states . The foundation capital at the time of the foundation was 10 million D-Marks; it can increase through donations.

The founder is committed to commemorating the victims and survivors of National Socialism and wants to counter right-wing extremism and youth violence in particular . In 2012, the foundation launched the “Stand Up Prize” for tolerance and moral courage, endowed with 10,000 euros (with former jury chairman Matthias Platzeck ) and supports cultural, sporting and educational projects as well as youth exchange programs in Eastern Europe and Israel .

Partners are u. a. the City of Leipzig , the Berlin Community Foundation , the State Center for Political Education Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , the German-Polish Youth Office , the Kreisau Initiative and the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt .

In addition to the founder and the managing director as the organ for day-to-day business, the board of trustees currently includes the manager Eberhard von Koerber , the civil rights activist Friedrich Schorlemmer , the politician Günter Baaske and Moritz Flick. The Prime Minister a. D. Manfred Stolpe was a long-term board member. The current managing director is the lawyer Susanne Krause-Hinrichs (since 2013).

Former members included a. the member of the Bundestag a. D. Monika Griefahn and Alexander Flick.
