The Football Féminin Issy or FF Issy for short is a women's football club from Issy-les-Moulineaux , a municipality on the south-western outskirts of Paris . Since summer 2020 the club has been called Grand Paris Seine Ouest 92 Issy or GPSO Issy .

history

The club was founded in 1997 by the three football-loving sisters Edith, Merlyne and Mercedes Boharquez as the Association EuroPeru . His first players were recruited from Peruvians living in the greater Paris area . In 2001 he took the name FF Issy and expanded his activities under a new association chairman. In 2012 around 200 girls and women played in this club. Since then, FF Issy - behind Juvisy FCF , now part of Paris FC , and Paris Saint-Germain , but before the traditional VGA Saint-Maur  - has established itself as the third force in women's football in Île-de-France . Another renaming took place in the “ Pandemic Summer 2020 ”, and the association is now called Grand Paris Seine Ouest 92 Issy after the western capital region , with 92 being the ordinal number of the Hauts-de-Seine department .

The club colors are red and white; the coat of arms is decorated with an owl . Issy's league frenzy plays her home games in the local Stade Jean-Bouin or in the Stade Gabriel Voisin .

League affiliation and achievements

Issy's women played in the highest regional league until 2008 and reached the second French division in 2009 after two consecutive promotions. For the 2012/13 season they were promoted to Division 1 Féminine , France's highest women's league for the first time . They had to leave this after only one year, returned there by return of post in 2014 and could not hold the class again. It then took until 2020 for Issy to return to the first division.

In the state cup competition , the FF had surprisingly qualified for the first time in 2005/06 for the national main round, in which women have been regularly represented since 2009 with one exception. They were most successful in 2009/10 when they made it to the round of 16.
