Career

society

Koch, who started playing club football at the age of six, went through the various age groups at SV Natters. After the trainers at the Bundesnachwuchszentrum (BNZ) Tirol became aware of his talent, he was also used there.

From BNZ Tirol his path led directly to FC Wacker Innsbruck in summer 2008, where he was initially signed for the second team that played in the Tyrolean regional league . Thanks to his consistently good performance, coach Walter Kogler became aware of Koch, who then integrated him into the squad of the fighting team. Koch signed a professional contract in autumn 2008 and made his professional debut in the first team on November 22nd, 2008 in the home game against FC Admira Wacker Mödling (2: 2), when he came on for Rene Gsellmann in the 46th minute .

With FC Wacker Innsbruck, Koch was two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling and champion of the second-rate Austrian first division in the 2009/10 season and was promoted to the Bundesliga with the team.

On November 25, 2010 Koch announced his move to league rivals FK Austria Wien during the winter break .

With Austria he became Austrian champion in 2012/13.

For the 2016/17 season he moved to SK Sturm Graz , where he received a contract valid until 2019. After 106 Bundesliga games for Sturm, he moved to league competitor WSG Tirol in January 2020 .

National team

Fabian Koch started his international career on March 31, 2009 in Wiener Neudorf , when he came on for Guido Burgstaller in the 46th minute in the friendly international match between the Austrian U-21 national team and Switzerland (1: 2) under team boss Andreas Herzog .
