Faithful Forever is a song from the soundtrack of the animated film Gulliver's Travels from 1939. Lyrics and composition are a joint effort by composers and lyricists Ralph Rainger and Leo Robin . The song in the film is sung by Jessica Dragonette (Princess Glory of Liliput) and Lonny Ross (Prince David of Blefuscu). Gulliver's Travels was the first full-length animated film to be released in cinemas in Germany after the war.

The story of the song in short: When the prince of one country wants to marry the princess of another country, both the father of the prince and the father of the princess are of the opinion that their national anthem should be heard after the wedding. The song of a country called Faithful ( True ), the song of the other country Forever ( forever ). When the dispute between the kings because of disagreement in a war ends, Gulliver is finally a solution by suggesting that the prince and princess each sing the song their country and to combine the lines together, from which the new song Faithful Forever created .

1940 was Faithful Forever in the category "Best Song" for a Oscar nomination. However, the award went to Harold Arlen for his song Over the Rainbow from the musical film The Wizard of Oz .

Faithful Forever , in the version by Glenn Miller, was number 5 on the US Billboard charts for 11 weeks in 1939 .
