How a pantograph knife works

Folding knives are knives whose blades can be folded out and in. They have two handle arms for wrapping the blade, which are arranged either next to or behind one another. They are subdivided into Balisong knives (butterfly knives) with two handle arms lying next to each other, into Jacob's ladder knives with two handle arms lying one behind the other and into pantograph knives with two fold-away arms.

In contrast to folding knives, the handle arms completely enclose the blade when closed. This means that it can also be ground with two cutting edges.
