Ferdinand Havlík
Ferdinand Havlík (born June 17, 1928 in Brno , † October 28, 2013 in Prague ) was a Czech film composer , band leader , arranger and jazz musician ( clarinet , alto saxophone ).
Live and act
Havlík founded the Semafor Music Theater in Prague with the actor Jiří Suchý in 1959 , where he directed the Divadla Semafor orchestra . From 1959 he made recordings for Supraphon . After Jiří Šlitr's death in 1969, Havlík became the main composer of the Semafor . In addition, he worked as a film composer from 1964, a. a. for the feature film Der Tod ist mit (1979, director: Ivo Toman). In the 1970s he founded a swing band , with which he performed at the 1979 and 1984 International Traditional Jazz Festival Breda . In the field of jazz he was involved in 16 recording sessions between 1959 and 1985.
