The Fili Park ( Russian Филёвский парк ) is a town forest in the Western district of the city of Moscow . It stretches for around five kilometers along the right bank of the Moskva , which is steep in places, and covers a total of 280 hectares.

The park, for which the location Fili is named, on whose territory it is located, has existed since the 17th century and originally belonged to an estate of the noble Naryshkin family. At that time, large parts of the park still consisted of primeval forest areas and were a preferred hunting area for the landlords and their guests, including Peter the Great , Catherine the Great and the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III. belonged. The early Classicist mansion of the Naryschkins (built in the 1820s, rebuilt in 1874) has been preserved to this day and is a listed building.

Another attraction of the Fili-Park are the remains of old settlements from the 5th-7th centuries. Century BC The forest areas were declared a garden monument in 1978 and contain mainly deciduous trees, some of which are over 100 years old. Today Fili-Park is a popular local recreation area .

Fili-Park is named for the Filjowski Park district and for the nearby Moscow Metro station of the same name .
