Florian Meimberg

Florian Meimberg (born July 6, 1975 in Bielefeld ) is a German director and author. He became known to a larger audience through the invention of TINY TALES - Micro Fiction on Twitter .

Life

Meimberg graduated from the Hans-Ehrenberg-Schule in Bielefeld-Sennestadt in 1995 and then moved to Düsseldorf . He dropped out of his graphic design studies after one semester and instead worked for large international advertising agency networks over the next few years. As creative director, he designed and was responsible for numerous campaigns and oversaw film productions for commercials worldwide . Meimberg has worked as a director for commercials, webisodes , documentaries and music videos since 2008 . His work has been recognized with important national and international creative awards.

In 2009 Florian Meimberg invented the Tiny Tales . He posted hundreds of self-contained fictional stories of just 140 characters on Twitter . In 2010 he received the Grimme Online Award for this and in 2011 published his stories in the book “It depends on length” in S. Fischer Verlag .

At the end of 2019, Meimberg filmed four of his Tiny Tales as micro movies . The one-minute films attracted industry-wide attention and worldwide recognition through nominations at international film festivals.

Florian Meimberg is a member and regular juror of the Art Directors Club Germany, as well as a member of the German Advertising Film Academy. He lives with his family near Düsseldorf.
