The Lynden Pindling International Airport (IATA: NAS , ICAO: MYNN ) is the international airport of Nassau in the Bahamas . It is also the base of Bahamasair and SkyBahamas Airlines . It is currently served by various airlines from North and Central America and from England.

Until 2006 the airport was called Nassau International Airport ; then it was renamed in honor of Lynden Pindling , the first prime minister of the Bahamas after independence in 1973.

Incidents

  • On October 18, 2019, a Douglas DC-3 C of the airline Atlantic Air Cargo (N437GB) landed in the water on its way from Opa-locka airport ( Florida ) during the approach to Nassau airport 4 kilometers in advance and sank. The two pilots of the cargo flight survived the mishap with the 65-year-old aircraft.
